Our Windsor Arm Chairs
These
early Windsor arm chairs (1740's) are characterized by their upright spindles. This
is an attractive Windsor arm chair with its nine long spindles extending through
a steam-bent bow up to a strongly curved crest with carved volute ears.
The length of the spindles and the presence of the crest creates flexibility
and comfort to the back. This chair is also available with the tail brace
and two extra spindles adding greater stiffness to the back. The comb back
can have either carved knuckles or hand-cut arms. This Windsor armchair
through history has been one of the most sought after Windsor arm chairs.
